Call of Duty: World at War Party/Release

Call of Duty: World at War officially comes out Tuesday, November 11th. Call of Duty 4 has been very popular lately, especially on X-Box live. It is the game credited for the disappearance of a Canadian boy when his father took away his console and use of COD4. Poor kid, I wonder how that’s turning out. It’s been over 2 weeks…

The night before the new release, there will be a release party at Game Stop in San Francisco beginning at about 9:00pm. Sign-ups begin at 10:00am. Some of the festivities include:

Playing the game first, before it officially comes out.

Competitive game-play for prizes; Head to Head

Group play against real soldiers on military bases

Photos with a pin-up babe. Not me. I’ll be working the event but I didn’t have big enough boobs or wasn’t tall enough or something. That’s ok; a part of me is relieved I won’t have mens’ hands/arms around me all night.

Photos with props/weapons/war get-ups

Warhead candy eating contest

Sounds like fun! Hopefully all will run smoothly. As I’m not an official for Game Stop or Activision I cannot guaranty the contents of the event, but all activities should be going. Call Game Stop for more info if you wish to attend.

Game on!!!

NO ON PROP 8

Published by yokoshima under Industry News Edit This

I’m not a terribly political person, but I tried to post a regular topic today and no matter what I did, it always slapped on a Yes on 8 ad. I refuse to let this ad go on my page and I have no choice. Whoever is paying to run this hateful ad is pushing the subject on me.

8 is a hateful, biased measure in the state of California to take away the right of two men or two women to get married. I think it is wrong in many ways. I respect that others may not approve of this way of life, but USA is a place of freedom where we can choose our own practices. Our laws were founded on a separation of church and state. We are a place where all shapes, colors, and beliefs can thrive.

To me there are two bottom lines. If we start making laws based on religion, we will soon have to cover up our faces and bodies because some religions say we must. We are supposedly against extremists so how can we be extremists ourselves.

My other bottom line is that we have such a high divorce and broken family rate in the USA. If a gay couple chooses to be in love forever and have a family, how bad is that? I would prefer this to a home where my parents are straight but do not get along. Keeping a relationship healthy and strong is hard enough facing all life’s obstacles; law is an unnecessary thing to face.

Also, one reminder; bi-racial marriages were once outlawed also. It doesn’t mean it’s right. One comforting fact is that no matter how many times it gets derailed, the subject will always return as it is a serious way of life, not an act or phase.

Please vote No on 8 and please stop placing Yes on 8 ads on my page.

Walmart Doing Away with Fabric Department in Some Stores

Published by yokoshima under Industry News Edit This

I’ve been hearing for a while that Walmart will be removing its fabric department in most stores. I can’t say I took it very seriously. Never once did I think of Walmart as my #1 choice in fabric stores, but since I’ve been doing more designs/commissions and with money being tight, I’ve looked to them more and more. I told myself I’d believe it when I see it. Well on Sunday I saw it. The local Walmart took out the fabric section. Thankfully there is still a craft row, but I’m not sure how much is leftovers and how much will be kept permanently. Last time I was at a Walmart fabric department, I noticed there was very little fabric compared to usual findings so I gave it some thought then. I guess I was in denial. It must be true. Fabric is very profitable so I don’t understand why they did this. My only thoughts are that modern technical society is moving away from practical, creative, and organic activity.

Bummer.

Perfect World International

Published by yokoshima under Industry News Edit This

I’m enjoying Perfect World thus far… I’m not getting too far in it since the servers will be wiped at Open Beta. That means all hard earned monies and equip will be lost.

There are so many character customizations that it is absolutely insane. It’s a cosplayer’s paradise. You can control your character’s entire look from major things like skin color to fine tuned things like eye makeup and nostril width. The body is also fully customizable. It’s comforting to have a character that’s finally just like me. I made a small waist and a big booty. World of Warcraft didn’t allow my Nightelf Priest to have red hair but I’ve got it here! There’s so many hair types to choose from. They even have “Chun Li” buns.

You can also save the presets for next time, aka making the permanent character after they clear the Beta data from the servers.

I thought you might like to see what I came up with… Here she is!

bigbootyedit.jpg

Isn’t she lovely!? <3

She’s even wearing high heels with legwarmers. I’m just so glad to see an MMO character with a good sized booty, not a stick person with big boobs, and crazy long red hair. She even has wings on her head like Morrigan with a little devil tail that wags. And I didn’t even have to use the cash shop! Woooow.

The game has a few other cool things I noticed… Anti-keylogger protection and the ability to change your character for up to 2 days after creation so you can fix anything you changed your mind on or doesn’t look right.

Go play! :D It’s fun! I get to whack monsters with my big machete. Aww yeeeaah!

Perfect World (International) Closed Beta Open

Published by yokoshima under Industry News Edit This

In other parts of the world, the word going around is that Perfect World is a great game. Perfect World is (yet another) free to play MMORPG that can be downloaded and played with thousands of people. About a year ago it was big in Asia and months ago I heard of Europeans playing and now I suppose it’s our turn in the U.S.

There’s no hokey long url to visit for more information. It’s simply http://www.perfectworld.com. I wonder how much that web domain cost… Go check it out!

It appears to be a lot like any other MMO except I’ve heard far less complaints, it seems to have reasonable depth, and the graphics look great. I assume it’s also challenging but not impossibly hard. Some games just become too difficult to grind and progress in. I look forward to trying this one out. Another noteworthy thing is that the characters appear to have a wide range of customization. I’ve seen some pictures of animal like people and women with breasts larger than their torso. I can’t imagine what I will see running around town… x_x

I’m also interested to see what items will be available to wear and for purchase. There are lots of different classes, but I’m at a loss as to which to pick. Since my MMO existence is based mainly upon appearence, I will have to look at screenshots of each class to determine what I will ultimately look like. The official forums lack screenshots in the screenshot section. I mostly found links that link to other posts. I felt like a rabbit going deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole, eating up more of my limited resources and ram along the way. Eventually I found the picture of the horrendously large breasted character and that was enough for me. I suppose I should look elsewhere for more pictures of the foreign Perfect World and make a decision. I’d also like to check out Perfect World videos on Youtube.

Just by pure guess I’m leaning toward Cleric or Magician. I love to spam magic. A melee class is more practical but magic people are usually prettier. *^^*

To play, just go to the website to download the client. Then you register with the site and they will select people for the Closed Beta. If you cannot get a Beta key and want to play Perfect World with me, just let me know and I’ll get one for you. I’m in no way affiliated with Perfect World, but I do make friends everywhere I go and then sometimes those friends go places. <3

The last game I played before this was Fiesta Online. Fiesta was fun too but I felt it lacked depth and there were a few annoying things with the user interface. I also wasn’t able to get anything cool to wear unless I paid real money. I don’t mind some pay items in online games, but Fiesta sold items that had a timed expiration. I’m sorry but I can’t play enough/reliably enough to be worth spending real money on something that literally does nothing and is nothing. If it lasts forever, well then, I may consider it. Albatross also had paid items that expire but they look cute *and* improve character ability/performance.

Perfect World Beta Download is at 98%. I will be playing starting tomorrow.

I feel bad I haven’t been able to blog every day. I’ve been suffering these horrible debilitating headaches off and on and it has to do with a neck injury from a car accident, so depending on how I sleep one night it can effect me for many days. :{ I will try harder to write an entry each day, but I take my time and do it right. So much to blog, so little time.
