Wow. Just wow.
Avex is doing a star search in the US as part of their 20th Anniversary World Audition. Avex is one of the leading labels in Japan. They are the label for Ayumi Hamasaki, M.O.V.E., and so many more! Even the majority of Eurobeat is Avex. Konami games like Para Para Paradise feature Avex music.
They will be holding auditions in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. I guess we’re lucky up here getting an additional California date. Usually if they hit LA they don’t bother with us. The goal is to find singers, dancers, and actors for Asia.

This is bigger than American Idol to some people! Amazing! I want to tell everyone I know! I’m not that great of a singer and I don’t know what kind of actors. I’m so curious and tempted to go, even if just to watch. *_* (Star struck.)

It’s just what it says, they’re casting a cosplayer to star in the next commercial. To participate you can go to a casting call in 3 major US cities or submit a 45-sec video expressing why they like GameFly and why the character they cosplay is their favorite.
At this time it seems to be lacking some details. The venue for online submission will open late August and fans will vote their favorite. No information is provided on whether or not the online videos and live casting compete at the same level which is public favor.
Also, no information is provided on the compensation provided for making a jackass out of yourself on national TV(?). Perhaps they think the honor of being on TV is enough. I guess it depends on how it is done. I just hope it is a sincere advertisement and that it is done well by whoever they select.
I might consider making a video; I have a few ideas. I’m just horribly angry at youtube right now. It won’t allow my videos to upload so I guess what good would it do to make a video. I need a new web video host. *adds to the list*
