Cosplay Tip: Make-Up
On a typical day I wear zero make-up. That’s right; nothing! I can’t stand taking a long time to get ready. That time is better spent sleeping in or fuxing around with my email. For photoshoots and cosplay, it’s good to give some thought to make-up. I always forget about make-up…
I was watching YouTube videos the other night about before and after makeovers, before and after photo retouching, and before and after makeup application. Very interesting stuff. I never realized how much difference make-up can make. I’m normally content to put on some hydrocortizone creme for moisture, a couple wisks of mascara and I’m good to go. When I was younger I wore make-up a lot so I have a good amount of it in the bathroom. It just never makes it to my face. Watching those videos was so inspiring, I’m thinking about studying to be a make-up artist.
Make-up can do so many things from enhancing appearance to creating art with things like airbrush and jewels, and even special effects and prosthetics. I’m getting so excited thinking about it my grammar is going right out the door.
Most of the good make-up schools are down in LA and Hollywood. :/
Not that I can afford it anyway. Stupid Silicon Valley.
Back to the point; If you spend a few minutes on make-up it can make a huge difference in your photos. I also discovered this site today thanks to another blogger. At this site you only have to spend a few dollars to make a make-up difference. It’s called Eyes Lips Face make-up. They shortened it to “ELF” make-up. Cute! I’ve heard of them before but I don’t think I’ve bought any new make-up other than mascara for about 3-4 years. When I went to the site I was pleasantly surprised. The prices are unbelievable and all the cosmetics are PETA approved so they do not use cruelty in the creation or testing of their makeup. I’m hoping to have myself a mini shopping spree there soon. :)

Thanks for reading and I’ll have some more specific make-up tips posted here in the future now that I’ve done the basic overview. B]

I didn’t think it was possible to create makeup in such a way that is cruel to animals. Barring that, PETA is an organization full of crazies. They want Ben and Jerry’s to use human breast milk.
