Welcome!
Welcome to the Cosplay USA Blog!
And welcome home to all the cosplayers who attended Comic Con 2008 in beautiful San Diego, CA!
Comic Con in San Diego is basically USA’s largest pop culture convention. It covers all pop culture subjects from Anime, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Gaming, Movies, Television, Comics, Cartoons, and more! This is also the place for collectors to do their shopping for rare and exclusive items. There is a huge dealers’ hall, panels, a Mascarade cosplay competition and more. Chances are if you’re reading this blog you already know what Comic Con is, but you can find more information at the official site: http://www.comic-con.org/.
This year, some of the hottest topics were:
-
Dark Knight (newly released)
-
The Watchmen
-
Twilight
-
Transformers 2
-
G.I. Joe the Movie
-
Spirit (with Samuel L Jackson)
-
The Day the Earth Stood Still
-
Return of Heroes TV Show
-
SWAG! (figures, posters, statues, autographs, books, limited editions, and more)
Since the Dark Knight has been such a huge success in only its’ first week (or two) in the box office, naturally the convention hosted many Joker and Batman cosplayers. There were also large Batman cosplay groups that consisted of other traditional characters like Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and the traditional Two Face.
The Star Wars cosplayers were also there in full effect. You could find nearly every Star Wars universe character in attendance. There were Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, Imperial Guards, and much much more.
Some other mentions would be the presence of Terminator cosplayers. There was actually a Terminator walking around with a photo of John Connor asking any attendees, “Have you seen this boy?”
There was fun to be had for any fan. Right now the attendees are still unpacking their bags and sorting through the loot, goodies, dirty clothes (at least it wasn’t as hot as previous years), and cosplay parts/pieces. This year again was a sold out show with no onsite registration available. Despite its’ obvious quirks; smelly people, pushing, crowding, expensive hotels/food, etc., I’m sure everyone in attendance will agree.. “We’ll be back!”
**Stay tuned for more converage on Comic Con 2008 and other cosplay related entries!**

Wow! quite a swell new blog you have here. I look forward to seeing and hearing about all the cool costumes at Comic Con and other events too. Keep at it! :)
(The red text is pretty hard to read on my old shadowy monitor, though, especially where it crosses into the gray background.)
I missed out this year but will have to hit it up next time. BTW, who’s the hottie on the banner? :D
