G4TV at Comic-Con ‘08

G4TV was at Comic-Con with a large booth and live show. You can see me on the show below in the crowd.

My costume for the (half after Registration Line) day was Emma Frost, The White Queen: Hellfire Club Version.

G4 had a lot of great guests Thursday. I saw Anna Paquin who plays Rogue in the X-Men movies. She was a lot different than I had imagined although I won’t say why.

They also had Spike from Spike and Mike’s Twisted Animation Festival present for an interview. I’m a huge Spike and Mike fan. They had a showing of new clip submissions in which the audience from Comic Con chooses what is shown at the festival. The festival tours around the US every year with new animated features and a few classics. He also teased the host with pink panties. The host wound up tossing them to the crowd after the segment. Since the crowd was mostly male, and they lacked reasons for owning a pink Spike and Mike g-string, so it was given to me. Very cool; like I said, I love Spike and Mike.

It seemed the bigger stars were interviewed offsite. I didn’t get to see Jennifer Connelly or Keanu Reeves for The Day the Earth Stood Still. It was the same for Hugh Jackman who plays Wolverine in X-Men. I would have really liked to see him in real life, but alas I had to opt for the TV monitor like all the folks at home. I’m sure he wouldn’t make it to the stage though… frothing fangirls would have ripped him to scraps before his arrival.

At any rate it was very exciting. I can’t say the staff provided a good experience though. After standing in the packed crowd for hours, they teased us with water. Olivia, “Do you guys want water???” Crowd, “YES!!!!! PLEASE!” Then Olivia handed one to a guy that just walked up and refused us any more water. Cosplayers need water! Especially the ones in latex, pvc, masks, bodysuits, etc. The Venom (from Spiderman) cosplayer beside me felt like a human heater. He was a really buff big guy and I’m sure he was boiling in that suit and the heat radiated outward to me.

Olivia also talked down to us in the audience periodically. I’m not sure if she has some kind of bitch act or what, but I didn’t get it. She told us things like “I’m doing my best up here and wtf are you guys doing? You know what.. I’m too pissed to even blog anymore.” My impression was just “wow…” Like I said, I don’t know if it was some kind of act for her blog camera or if she’s just that nasty to people because she knows people will like her anyhow. I heard she was in Maxim as one of the hottest video game babes. On stage I just saw a spoiled little girl snapping at people and having other people brush her hair for her. At least the other host and some of the staff were more respectful, polite, and friendly. Attitude really makes all the difference.

It was torture to endure the long live filming but I guess it was worth it. I look happy enough in the videos. :D

If it’s not too creepy, can I say, “You can unethically probe my mind anytime”?
